ORGANISATION:

Storm Ministries

Storm is a registered charity and voluntary group that has been working in Worthing for the past 20 years, running children's and young people's clubs training them in the performing arts and teaching the truths of the Christian faith.
Storm runs regular Holiday Clubs where children enjoy sport and outdoor activities alongside craft and performing arts. Storm clubs currently run on Wednesdays in term time at Storm House Unit 1 4 Union Place Worthing BN11 1LG.

Storm not only works with children and young people, there are many creative opportunities for adults.

Make 'n Munch
This group is open to all ladies to get together to be creative, learning skills (e.g.knitting, crochet, pumpkin carving, drawing, card making etc) and completing various community projects.  There is a weekly knitting group that runs on a Thursday morning at Storm House at 10.30am to knit for Storm's various garden and hospital penguin projects.  We enjoy cake, coffee and chat too.  Once a month the Saturday team meet to learn new skills and prepare for our annual 'Create for Christmas'.  This is an event where you can just come for a coffee and chat, or enjoy learning new skills and buying our products.

Garden Team
Storm also has a group of dedicated gardeners who are working alongside Worthing Council to redeem the plot of wasteland opposite Waitrose and the three raised beds outside The Corner House Public House on Providence Terrace.  We are also involved in planting one of the seafront beds up near the Pier.   We also have our own gardens and an allotment to manage.  We love to give away our excess vegetables in the Summer months and use many of them to cook good homely meals for our homeless and insecurely housed local community.  We generally garden once a month on a Saturday afternoon and regular Wednesday afternoons 3pm.  Please check the website for dates and times.
We are always on the look out for gardeners to join us.

Community Outreach
We love being involved in our local community in various ways.  We go out once a month picking up litter and sometimes giving 'stuff' away.  At special times of the year we will do Street Performances mainly featuring dance and drama.  We serve hot food to anyone in need of a bit of support and company on a Tuesday evening at Storm House.  A lot of our guests are currently homeless or insecurely housed.  They enjoy a good meal, some friendly chat and a bit of a quiz.  There is the opportunity to join the Recovery Course if that is something that they feel would be helpful.
